MY STORY
I am an illustrator and digital artist whose lifelong passion is depicting meaningful visual narratives through both traditional and digital mediums: I bring fictional worlds to life by meticulously hand-painting every last stroke.
A collection of strokes is a fine detail. A collection of fine details is a subject or environment. The eventual amalgamation of these subjects and environments is a cohesive artwork.
A major influence on my visual language is my love for heavy metal music and its various genres. From classic and progressive metal to death, black, doom and symphonic metal. The profundity of the dark, atmospheric imagery embedded in metal lyrics and sounds continue to inspire much of my creative identity.
Art without AI
I strongly believe in the value of human creativity, skill and imagination. I am firmly against the use of generative AI technology in the creation of my artwork. Every piece I create is the culmination of my own ideas, decisions and nuanced creative process.
A picture should be worth one thousand words because of the story it represents rather than any convoluted prompt. The value is in each and every aforementioned stroke because each one, even when naturalistically askew, has been intentionally placed onto the canvas with a final image in mind.
Experience
I hold an Advanced Diploma of 3D Modelling and Illustration and have worked professionally within one of Australia’s leading animation studios, contributing to major animated productions and having my name featured in the credits of several animated films.
Alongside my professional experience in 3D animation and digital art, I have created many traditional paintings for private clients and there isn’t a barren wall in my home.
I actively participate in art community events, connecting with fellow artists and sharing my work with its meaning.
